Olauda Ecviano, or Gustav Vasa (c. 1745-1797) is the son of the elder of the African IGBO African tribe, a sailor, a participant in the Seven Years War, a convinced Christian, entrepreneur, hairdresser, valtornist, a participant in the polar expedition, a servant of the governor, abolitionist, publisher and one of the first English -language Black writers, whose autobiography you hold in your hands. Being stolen at a young age and sold into slavery, over time he was able to redeem, become a free person, and then write a book directed against slavery and became the best work of the XVIII century in the genre of Slave Narrative. Under the cover with a modest heading "Amazing narrative ..." The story is hiding about obsession with freedom, the confession of a former slave, which, despite the hopelessness of his position, managed to fulfill his dream. Only during the life of the author, the narration withstood nine publications and rival Daniel Defoe in popularity with Robinson Crusoe. Among other things, as an application, the book publishes the “Guide to the Advals to the Negro” Planter Philip Gibbs - a significant document of the era, which the modern reader will seem to be the fruit of the inflamed fantasy of one of the heroes of the film “Dzhango Freed”.
