Fifteen years ago, rumors walked that the late diaries of Andrei Bely were not published because they were “too crazy " - although, which means“ too crazy ”regarding the author of“ Petersburg ”is not entirely clear. The case, of course, was different: the diary records of Bely were preserved fragmentarily, some of them were seized by the OGPU, and for the publication of the preserved, it was required to carry out a thorough archival and textual work, for which Monica Lvovna Spivak, a great specialist in the life and work of the writer, took up.
