The collection of memoirs about Sergey Alexandrovich Yesenin (1895-, 1925) included works by people who knew the poet both at the time of the heyday of his glory and in the difficult period of the crisis, up to the tragic death in 1925. The co -founder of the Order of Imaginists, the poet Anatoly Mariengof, the closest friend and associate of Yesenin for many years, writes about him with undisguised tenderness, but at the same time with mild irony. Matvey Roizman, secretary of the Association of Volunteers founded by Yesenin, appears in his memoirs as a respectful and inspired fan and student of the great poet. For Ilya Schneider, a meeting with Yesenin was connected with work as a secretary and accompanying Isadora Duncan during her trips to the Soviet Union. Each author of memoirs looks at Yesenin with a special, unique look, allowing the reader to form the most complete and versatile idea of the personality of the poet
