The book tells of the love dramas of Alexei Nikolayevich Tolstoy, who accompanied him throughout his life. Troubles shook Russia, brightly depicted by the writer in his main novel - “Walking through the torment”. The work was highly appreciated by readers and was awarded the Stalin Prize. Tolstoy himself experienced this “walking” during the years of the revolution and emigration, where next to him was the third wife, the genuine angel of the Keeper, Natalya Vasilievna Krandievskaya. He parted with her, returning to Russia, where he gained fame, honor and prosperity. A special place in the book is occupied by chapters on the work of the writer during the Great Patriotic War
