Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov - admiral of the fleet of the Soviet Union, one of those to whom we owe a victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 1939, at the personal instructions of Stalin, 34-year-old Kuznetsov was appointed People"s Commissioner of the USSR Navy. During the war, he entered the headquarters of the Supreme High Command, quickly and energetically led the fleet. For their outstanding merits N.G. Kuznetsov received the highest military rank in the Navy and became the hero of the Soviet Union. After the war, the fate of N.G. Kuznetsova was not easy - the sharp and fundamental character of the admiral led to conflicts with the highest leadership of the country. In 1947, he was even removed from his post and lowered in rank, but then restored by the order of I.V. Stalin. However, already during the reign of N. Khrushchev, an unbending admiral was dismissed with a humiliating formulation of "without the right to work in the fleet." In his book N.G. Kuznetsov shows the events of the Great Patriotic War from its first day to the final defeat of Hitler Germany and the defeat of militaristic Japan. The defense of Khanko, Libava, Tallinn, Odessa, Sevastopol, Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad, the largest fleet operations in the north, Baltic and the Black Sea - all this is in the book of the legendary Soviet admiral. In addition, he recalls his meetings with the highest state, party and military leaders of the USSR, talks about the methods and style of the work of I.V. Stalin, G.K. Zhukov and many other famous figures of his time
