The Memorial “AD-184” is dedicated to the memory of the heroic defenders of the Motherland, who stood in 1941 in the way of the German hordes and were captured in the inhuman conditions of the “barrel-184” and other death camps in the city of Vyazma. It summarizes the results of the many years of work of MAOPO “The People’s Memory of Defenders of the Fatherland”, the Vyazemsky Memorial organizing committee, search engines of the volunteers of Russia and other CIS countries to establish names and fate of prisoners, perpetuate their memory, the search for relatives of the fallen, gathered numerous certificates of eyewitnesses, participants in those terrible events. The book presents the story of the Vyazemsky tragedy, which has not yet received proper lighting. The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation V. R. Medinsky said: We are used to reckoning the dead Soviet prisoners of war to the martyrs, but they got too late to the thought that they are the heroes of the war. It is time to find out about their feat.
