The works of Boris Ignatievich Arvatov (1896–1940), an outstanding Russian avant -garde, art critic, art criticism, the theorist of production art, the Proletkultist and Lefovts, are known today less than the works of Vladimir Mayakovsky or Sergey Eisenstein, his comrades and colleagues. Until recently, the works of Arvatov were not reprinted, and the number of studies devoted to him still remains small. Moreover: he managed to publish almost all his significant texts during his lifetime, not counting the manuscript “About Mayakovsky”, on which the author, judging by the letters, had high hopes and, until his last days, dreamed of seeing the book printed. Alas, she got to the reader only now, after many years and thanks to the efforts of the Italian researcher Virginia, they drank the work of preparing the archival manuscript for the press, as well as the philologist Sergei Kim, who helped with the dismissal of this complex text
