The World Congress on the Children"s Book, held in September 2021 in Russia, showed that visual literature: silent books, books -picture books, vimmelbuhi, graphic novels - firmly entered the professional field of children"s reading. There are more and more such books in the catalogs of publishers around the world, genre boundaries are more distinct, more and more attention is paid to silent books.
Professional discourse around the silent books is just being formed. Librarians, teachers, parents have not yet been able to fully evaluate the methodological, pedagogical, emotional potential of visual literature.
The publication offers a methodology for working with visual literature for librarians and teachers, describes its great opportunities: living text, creating stories, developing figurative thinking, imagination.
The book has a review of modern books and the forms of working with them are proposed. Materials suggest the reader"s complicity in the search for methodological ideas and solutions in working with silent books and books of unusual formats.
The book is addressed to a wide circle of readers, but first of all - teachers, librarians, museum workers, teachers of additional education, and the organizers of reader programs
