Pavel Alexandrovich Florensky (1882-1937), one of the most mysterious thinkers of the early 20th century - philosopher, mystic, theologian, but at the same time a naturalist and inventor. N. K. Bonetskaia began studying his work back in the 1970s, and in the 1980s was involved in preparing Florensky's archival manuscripts for publication in foreign academic editions. A historian of Russian philosophy, a specialist in the culture of the Silver Age, she developed an original concept of the Florensky phenomenon, which is presented in this book. Florensky is seen by her as belonging to a spiritual tradition that traces back to the figure of the great J. W. Goethe. The book, which raises the sharpest issues of spiritual culture, is written in clear, far from scientific language and is intended for all those interested in the mysterious era of the Silver Age.
