Vladimir Aleyikov (b. 1946) is a poet, writer, and translator, the founder of the SMOG group, and the winner of numerous literary awards. Aleyikov's books gradually reach contemporary readers interested in the lives and works of prominent figures of the domestic underground scene. The heroes of the book are friends and associates of the author, nonconformist artists, writers, and poets such as Venedikt Yerofeyev, Igor Voroshilov, Sergey Dovlatov, and many others. "Between Revelations and Hardships" is the prose of the poet, free, associative, polyphonic, with all its peculiarities, and at the same time, it is a kind of reminiscence of the past.
