A cold-blooded gentleman-gambler, a circus beauty, whose luxurious body is enjoyed by the powerful of this world, a satanic doctor-hypnotist... Their helpless victims are entangled in the webs of German espionage that have engulfed the entire St. Petersburg... Nikolai Georgievich Shebuev (1874-1937) was a writer, journalist, poet, and publisher. In 1905-1906, he published the popular satirical magazine "Pulemyot," where he harshly mocked the tsarist government, for which he was arrested and imprisoned. From 1906-1907, he published a newspaper, and from 1908 to 1925, he published magazines. He was also the author of scripts for the stage and circus. An Extremely Criminal Novel," "Beautiful Elena (Theatrical Passions)," "Godless Moscow," "The Case of His Worker Majesty the Proletarians of All Russia: Memories of 'Pulemyot,' 'Days of Freedom,' 'Accidental Amnesty,' 'Gaponiada,' and other things in quotes.
