Belgian director Luke Dardenn in his diary, covering 24 years of work in the cinema (from 1991 to 2014) step by step reveals the stages of work on the paintings that became modern classics and are marked by many festival awards - including two palm branches and grains at Cannes. The idea of each film is born in a constant dialogue with his brother - Jean -Pierre Darden, is tested for strength in painstaking work on the script, but the brothers find many important solutions only on the set. In their paintings, Dardenne combines the experience of independent cinema with the psychological depth of the classical novel and modern European philosophy. This publication is accompanied by the introductory article by Anton Dolina about the artistic universe of the Dardenn brothers and the final interview, taken in 2016 and 2020.
