About the author of Hieromonk Grigory (in the world of Hadziammanuel Panayotis) was born on the island of Methylene in 1936, graduated from the Theological Faculty at the University of Athens, then studied the patristic theology in Strasbourg. Returning to his homeland, in 1966 he took monastic tonsure, was ordained a deacon, and a month later - to the priest, and went to Athos. In 1968, following the holy elder Paisius and Archimandrite Vasily, Fr. Gregory settled in the monastery of Stavronikit. In 1971 about.
