Vasily Grigorievich Yangchevetsky (V. Yang, 1875- 1954) created the historical trilogy "invasion of the Mongols" - the novels "Genghis Khan", "Baty" and "To the Last Sea". Roman Baty was published in 1942, during the Great Patriotic War. And the author contributed to the fight against the fascists - wrote a book about the grandson of Genghis Khan, the cruel tyrant of Bati, also striving to conquer the "whole universe". The writer has shown the fight of Batya for power, and then the capture and ruin of Russia.
V. Yang recreates the heroic picture of the struggle of the Russian people against the Mongol-Tatar conquerors. However, the principalities fought alone. In the era of feudal fragmentation of the princes did not create a combined army to combat the enemy.
