An outstanding Czech writer, one of the pillars of the European Modernist, Richard Weiner first appears before the Russian reader. It was Weiner in 1924 `Opened` Surrealism. But during his lifetime, his work was not particularly well known to the wide audience, although such a large literary authority, like F.K.Shald, noted an outstanding talent of the Czech writer at the very beginning of his creative path. However, after the death of Weiner, his writing work received complete recognition. In the 1960s, many separate publications emerged, and in the 1990s began to publish a complete collection of his writings.
Weiner lived and wrote in Paris, whose atmosphere could not affect his work. The main theme of Weiner"s works is the subject of loss of personality - he is not just a tribute time, but a permanent reason for creativity. The told never acts as directly, but it turns out to be secondary.
It"s time and the Russian reader get to know this `the great stranger`, what will help the remarkable translations of N.Ya.Falkovskaya and I.G.Bezrukova
