The study guide outlines the basic concepts and definitions of metrology, the theoretical foundations of constructing the measurement scales, the principles of forming systems of units of measurement and prospects for their development, theoretical foundations of algorithmic estimation of the errors of methods and means of measurements. The methods of approximation and identification, including computer, function distribution functions and random measurement errors, as well as methods for estimating the parameters of these functions are considered. The methods for identifying and compensating systematic errors are investigated. Algorithms for processing measurement results with analysis of sources of errors and processing methods are given.
