The manual provides practical examples and tasks of thermodynamic cycles of steam turbine plants. An example of calculating a cycle with a gaseous working fluid is separately given. The main attention is paid to verifying the obtained calculation results. Issues of heat exchange in various systems are considered - the lining of the combustion chamber, heat-releasing elements. In the latter, internal heat sources can vary over time and in coordinates. A description of a laboratory experiment on studying the temperature field in the active element of an electromagnet is provided. The textbook is recommended for students studying in the fields of vocational education when studying the course of heat engineering.
