In this manual, the foundations of English phonetics are revealed: the work of speech bodies, classification of vowels and consonants, the phenomena of assimilation and adaptation, the situation and verbal emphasis, strengths and weak forms of servicewords, intonation. The proposed material is divided into six modules in accordance with the discipline work plan and aims to develop imitation skills, reproduction and creating basic phonetic structures in various types of speech activities. Each module in itself theoretical and practical tasks for mastering and consolidating the knowledge gained during audit classes during independent work.
