The next (sixth) volume of the collective monograph Basics of African Linguistics continues the series in which five volumes were published: Named Categories (1997), Morfemic and Morform (2000), Verb (2003), Lexical subsystems . Word formation (2008), Syntax of registered and verb groups (2010) Within the framework of this volume, a diverse range of problems associated with the genetic classification of Africa idioms are considered: the total methodological problems of the genetic classification of African languages, the rationale of the hypothesis of long-range kinship (on the material of Nigero-Congolese languages), the internal and external classification of the language family (on the material of Grassfield languages), Classification of close-friendly languages (on the material of nearby idioms Bow and Dialands of Pular-Fulfuld), innergency typology (on the material of the Languages Bow and Languages KVA).
