In the 11th century, England was conquered by the Normans. Many of the native inhabitants, the Saxons, were driven from their usual places. This fate also befell young Robin. He gathered a band of similarly disenfranchised people, went into the forests, and became a robber known as Robin Hood. It happened that he distributed the stolen goods from the rich to the poor.
The English love their hero, and why - the reader will see from the folk ballads, translated into Russian by the poet and translator Ignatiy Ivanovsky and illustrated by the artist Igor Oleykinov.
