The book shows the historical role of Russia (USSR) in the Balkan region during periods of the most acute international confrontation and wars of the 20th century, especially during the first and second world wars, as well as in modern conditions. Little-known documents reveal the discussion problems of Soviet-Yugoslav military-political relations, including those associated with the role of I. V. Stalin, I. Broind Tito, W. Churchill and other political figures. A significant place is assigned to the issues of traditional Russian solidarity with the peoples of the Balkan countries, including the provision of military assistance to the USSR liberation struggle of Yugoslavia in 1941-1945, the combat community, examples of heroism and the exploits of the Red Army soldiers in the Yugoslav land. The role of the Russian Federation is shown in the resolution of the modern Yugoslav crisis at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries.
