Aybala is the third of four daughters of a local midwife, she is not beautiful and is convinced that she will never get married. Aybala helps her mother - she knows how to not only deliver babies but also ease women's pain. Her fate is to become a midwife in her village, but Aybala wants to continue her education, study midwifery. Running away from home, she will go through a difficult path from a nurse in a rehabilitation center for pregnant women affected by the Chernobyl accident, to a medical school student and a certified midwife. But the circle of fate will intricately close - and Aybala will return to her native village to find not only the desired profession but also personal happiness.
