The monograph is devoted to the emergence and development of national Chinese aviation and air industry in the XX century. In the first book, the period is considered, starting with the ancient attempts of flying in the "subwayless empire", and before the early 1940s.
For the first time, information from Chinese and Taiwanese sources, a number of Western publications, as well as numerous documents from Russian archives and published memories of Soviet volunteers, are generalized.
The basis of Chinese aviation for many decades was imported military and civil aircraft from many countries of the world - the USSR, USA, England, Germany, France, Italy, etc. Provincial rulers.
