In our time, John Stuart Mill would be called a prodigy - at the age of three he began learning classical Greek, at twelve he started studying advanced mathematics, chemistry, logic, and political economy, and by fourteen his education as a future philosopher was considered complete. At the same time, Mill had no childhood amusements or friends his age, he grew up as a physically weak boy. Adolescent troubles led to a mental crisis, with suicide seeming like the only way out for Mill. However, a turning point in John Stuart's life, which he vividly described in his 'Autobiography', changed Mill's attitude not only towards his own life but also towards society as a whole.
