Ivan Antonovich (Antipovich) Efremov (1908-1972) is an outstanding Russian Soviet fantast, a paleontologist, creator of taphonomy (scientific discipline, which explains how and why the remains of extinct animals and plants are preserved), philosopher-cosmist and social thinker. Since the mid-1920s, his life has been held on expeditions, in many bringing valuable finds and discoveries.
In the proposed stories, adventures and science fiction are combined. Their heroes are geologists, whose selfless search for natural resources is especially important during the Great Patriotic War and the post -war restoration of the national economy. In harsh climatic conditions, with a risk to life, they find new mineral deposits and make important scientific discoveries. The dense East Siberian taiga, thunderstorm passes of Tuva, the insidious gorges of Altai and the frozen hills of Yakutia do not fear the heroes of the collection, but natural phenomena, which at first seemed miraculous and frightening, ultimately find rational rationale. Listen to this audiobook - plunge into the atmosphere of expeditions in the harsh edges of our vast homeland.
