The work is devoted to the history of military architecture in Tunisia - a country with the richest cultural heritage.
The publication examines the monuments of defensive architecture of the Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Aglabids, Fatimids, Zirids, Hafsides, Turkish-Sosmans, Beyan dynasties, fortification of marine bases of the Spaniards, pirates, the line of marriage, strengthened Berber villages and much more. The evolution and design of the fortification are presented against a wide historical background. At the end, a detailed guide is given with a description of the surviving monuments.
The publication is richly illustrated by a large number of copyright photographs, cards, plans, and reconstruction drawings.
The author of the work is Konstantin Sergeyevich Nosov - a well -known fortification historian, doctor of historical sciences, director for scientific work of the Center for Studying the History of Fortification (TSIF), chief scientific editor of the magazine "Questions of the History of Fortification".
The publication is of interest to historians, archaeologists, architects, art historians, specialists in military history, as well as for all those interested in the history of Tunisia and travel tourists.
