The Arkady brothers (1925 - 1991) and Boris (1933) Strugatsky - outstanding prose writers of the 20th century, co -authors who created real masterpieces in the field of science fiction and brought world fame to our literature. Each of their work was and remains a bestseller, but at the same time affects the most serious social, philosophical and psychological problems.
"Jews of the city of St. Petersburg or gloomy conversations by candlelights" (1990) is the first and last Strugatsky play, which was a great success in many theaters of our country. A black man in a wet cloak with a hood comes to your apartment and gives the summons: “All the Jews of St. Petersburg to appear then and there ... with things ... "How to react? People react differently. And the play looks (and listens!) In one breath. And the authors wrote it just a year before the notorious coup of the GKChP. That"s when millions of people were faced with the same choice: "How to react?"
The second work "Five spoons of the elixir" (1985) is also a dramatic one, the script is dedicated to the eternal theme in fiction - immortality.
