The new series "The Golden Age of Detective Fiction" combines works that can be safely called the gold classic of the detective genre. The series in English is voiced by professional dicters - native speakers and addressed to everyone who wants to improve the skills of perception by ear to a foreign text, expand the vocabulary and simply enjoy the sound of a work in the original language.
In the fifth issue of The Golden Age of Detective Fiction, one of the best detective -spy novels "The Ridge of the Sands" (1902) - the famous Irish politician, prose writer and military theorist of the beginning of the last century Erskin Chalders.
Two friends traveling on a yacht along the German coast accidentally reveal the secret preparations of the German army to invade England.
This detective story made the effect of an exploding bomb, predicting the beginning of the First World War. The novel gave rise to many imitations, was repeatedly filmed and, according to The Guardian, is still included in the list of "100 best novels of all time and peoples."
The disk also contains a text version of the story in English.
