The largest and unique collection of monuments of the centuries -old development of the artistic culture of Japan from the ancient periods of Jemon and Yay (the second millennium BC) to the era of Tokugawa or Edo (mid -19th century) The disk presents more than 2,500 images of masterpieces of sculpture, painting, graphics, architecture of Japan, as well as objects of decorative and applied art, included in the golden fund of world culture.
In this collection you will see ancient ceramic and bronze vessels, clay figures-dogu, bells, Buddhist sculptures, various miniature figures of NECKE, masterpieces of religious and secular painting on scrolls, fans, shirms, murals of castle walls.
Over 1,500 samples of the Ukiyo-e engravings are included in the exposition-a significant and original phenomenon in the art of Japan, which marked the heyday of urban culture in the XVIII-XIX centuries.
There are also Shinto and Buddhist architectural complexes and ensembles, locks and palaces of segunes, magnificent Japanese gardens of the XIV-XVI centuries, as well as a variety of painted utensils for the tea ceremony, made in the well-known ceramic workshops of Japan, porcelain, varnish boxes, traditional Japanese Costume, samples of fabric, weapons and armor of Japanese samurai warriors, Kabuki theater costumes, masks and theater costumes.
