The ornament is a universal form of art, the history of which originates from primitive times and lasts until today.
All the material of the collection is divided into four sections: decorative, applied and fine art, architecture and art of the book. The variety and volume of ornaments presented in the section of decorative and applied art indicates their magical purpose among primitive peoples, the important meaning in the everyday of the ancient Greeks and Romans, about the thrust of Europeans of the New Age for grace and comfort. A magnificent selection of images from handwritten and printed books of the 7th - 20th centuries gives an idea of the evolution of this type of ornament in Europe and Muslim countries of the East.
