Love and money, self -interest and eternal topics, perfectly described by the great Russian playwright
Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky.
The capital"s beauty Lidia Cheboksarova - a young lady with claims, for whom real life is where “the brilliance, servility of men and crazy luxury” met a provincial, slightly simple -minded, but pragmatic Vasilkov. The conflict between them takes the form of a duel in which Cheboksarova’s “female exploits” come across a firm will of Vasilkov: he wants to raise his wife and make her a smart, practical mistress and decorating a secular salon. The “pacification of waywards” leads to the fact that he manages to knock Lydia out of the head of Lydia and force to live “according to the budget”
