"Machiavelli condemn two categories of people:
Those who have never read it,
And those who renounce him in words,
But in fact it is guided precisely by its technologies.
Niccolo Machiavelli, the greatest social technologist who lived at the turn of the XV-XVI centuries, left us an invaluable theoretical heritage in managing large social objects, which to this day is more relevant, more informative and useful than the vast majority of modern business books and management .
On the grave of Machiavelli in Florence, you can read the inscription: "There are no words in Italian, capable of conveying the greatness of this person.
And if many know about him and his works only by hearsay and represent him with a certain apologist for cynicity and evil, then the reason lies in the fact that Machiavelli was primarily a hot patriot of Italy.
As a patriot, he hated the institution of the papacy and believed that the Catholic Church in the person of this institute, not having the strength and desire to unite Italy and thereby eliminate the bloody wars between its cities-states, found the strength and desire to prevent everyone who sought to such an association. Separating and ruleing, the church received its bonuses from the internecine wars of compatriots.
The church answered Machiavelli with the same hatred, burned his books and demonized his image forever.
In addition, Machiavelli aroused and causes the envy and even hatred of many "social thinkers" with its indecently great intellectual superiority.
Machiavelli works are tightly saturated with information. However, an inexperienced or superficial look can slide through the texts, without seeing this priceless treasury of managerial recipes, techniques and principles, since not every reader has sufficient time and patience to do the necessary and rather laborious work.
The seminar will allow the audience to re -“open” Machiavelli’s legacy for themselves, to enrich his managerial techniques, learn to find thoughts and advice in his texts in his texts.
I must say that, unlike most modern authors, Machiavelli not only describes the techniques themselves, but also usually indicates the conditions and restrictions of their application. To the place to mention that in physics the rule is known: to understand physical theory means to understand its restrictions, i.e. areas where this theory does not work.
The seminar discusses in detail the various management techniques and principles of Machiavelli adapted by the author and the host of the seminar to modern business and management conditions. These techniques are especially relevant for the leaders of large corporations and those business people for whom a hard management struggle is everyday practice.
In particular, among others the following issues are considered:
Adequate self -esteem of the leader
The right of custom and the strategy of unpopular innovations
The first necessary steps when acquiring or absorbing a new business
risks when providing assistance
Attraction of attention to help motives
The strategy of manifestation of the necessary cruelty, good deeds and generosity
The difference in ethics of the first leader and personnel ethics
necessity, expediency and pragmatism when fulfilling promises
Love and fear as basic control mechanisms
What should be avoided so as not to gain hatred or contempt of subordinates
Distribution of responsibility between the leader and the team
Building relationships with new neighbors and partners
The old and new staff management style
Converting other people"s actions into their
Fulfillment by the head of public duties.
on what signs are judged by the wisdom of the leader
Inexhaustible source of wise tips
The first error after coming to power
Assessment of the suitability of assistants
Balancing between flatterers and truth lovers
Proper use of advisers and consultants
What should the leader need to be, and what needs to seem
Double glory and double shame of the leader
Why are the correct orders and orders are late
Three good and three bad forms of government ...
... and at least four dozen techniques and principles of Machiavelli, each of which is of value for the first leader of any rank
Those who have never read it,
And those who renounce him in words,
But in fact it is guided precisely by its technologies.
