The sailors of the Duncan yacht, owned by Lord Eduard Glenarvan, caught a young fish in the waters of Scotland, inside which there was a bottle with a mysterious letter for help. The water greatly spoiled the documents, but it was possible to make out that the ship of Captain Grant crashed 37 degrees south latitude. The longitude, as well as the land itself, on which the victims of shipwreck, could not be determined.
Lord Glenarwan equips a rescue expedition to search for Harry Grant and, together with the children of the captain, goes into a round-the-world voyage on the 37th parallel. The heroes have to cross three oceans, visit South America, Australia and New Zealand, meet wild animals and cannibals, pirates and runaway convicts and survive many other dangerous adventures
