Yuri Karlovich Olesha (1899-1960) - Russian Soviet writer, poet, playwright, journalist, film science. In the 1920s, he belonged to the Odessa literary mug, which left a bright mark in the Russian literature of the early XX century. Glory to the writer was brought by the story-tale "Three fat men". She withstood many publications, staging on the theater stage and film adaptation. But the peak of Olesha’s work is considered the novel "Envy" - the book is complex: to this day, literary critics argue about it. The plot is based on the history of the Russian intelligentsia, which has lost in the stormy stream of post -revolutionary changes. In the image of one of the characters - Nikolai Kavalerov - the writer put a lot of autobiographical and was shocked by the reaction of readers who perceived the hero as a vulgar and insignificant person. In truth, the gentlemen are really not too pretty - rather, it was miserable. The novel tells about the change of eras, where in the new reality there is no place for beautiful dreamers, where the helm has active pragmatists who set specific goals and reach them. As you can see, the book has not lost its relevance. The novel was written with a lively, figurative language, read and listen to it is true pleasure.
