There was an old chapel on the outflow of a small Polish town. Beggars, homeless people lived in her dungeons. Among them were two children, brother and sister. Once, a river boy, the son of a judge, climbed into the chapel, and treated them with apples. The children made friends, despite the fact that adults forbade the boy to go to the chapel, suspecting that thieves live there, which could be ill on him. But it so happened that thanks to the children from the dungeon, the boy learned to truly appreciate friendship, care, responsiveness.
