Andrei Platonovich Platonov (real name Kliment, 1899–1951) - an outstanding Russian Soviet writer: prose writer and publicist, playwright and poet. During the Great Patriotic War, the military commander of the Red Star newspaper served as the captain. He was a direct witness to many events from among those that were reflected in his military stories. The collection compiled five such works: "armor", "officer and soldier", "Ivan the Great", "Dragon Jaw", "Sturm Labyrinth". Their action belongs to different periods of the war, but these stories are united by a common end -to -end motive: the courage, stamina and strength of the spirit of the defenders of our Fatherland are contrasted with the soullessness and machine cruelty of the Armads of Nazi Germany. And the Russian soldier defeats a humanoid monster - often at the cost of his own life
