CDPC The story of painting in masterpieces. Volume 1

The history of European painting can be studied by its masterpieces - works that have been included in the Golden Fund of World Culture and have had a huge impact on spectators, critics and other artists for centuries. To decipher the plot of the picture, to discern curious details, to learn more about its history and the fate of its author will help "History of painting in masterpieces", a project created by employees of the Faculty of History of Art of the Russian State University. The first volume is dedicated to the work of masters of Italian and northern Renaissance. Each disk section opens with a viewing article and consists of a number of illustrated stories-descriptions. The section "Topics and genres" covers the emergence and development of such important genres as a portrait, landscape, an altar image, a history of various dilapidated and New Testament, historical, mythological and allegorical plots in European art is traced. In total, more than 1,400 illustrations, a detailed description of 120 paintings of 50 artists.
