"This is the architecture that is reflected, swaying in water. These are clouds that are piled and disintegrated. These are falling asleep branches, rain on the leaves ... " - so said Jean Cocteau about the works of the great French composer Claude Debussy - the founder of musical impressionism. This direction took place in the 80-90s of the XIX century. The composers of the impressionists, first of all, K. Debussy and M. Rael sought to get as close as possible in their music to the poetry of nature, to convey with the help of sounds the subtle worlds of human feelings and moods.
Disk "Impressionism in music" is addressed to a wide range of music lovers and professionals. The reader and listener will find in him the creative portraits of many European and Russian composers of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. Among them: Saint-Sans, Sati and Duke, Reger and Maler, Grieg and Bartok, Stravinsky and Scriabin (total 28 authors) In the preparation of biographical material, in addition to authoritative encyclopedic reference books, publications of such famous French and Russian authors of the beginning of the last century were used as: R. Rollan, J. Thiers, J. Kombary, V. Karatygin, articles and memories of the composers themselves and their contemporaries. Biographical material about composers is combined with the characteristics of their most significant works of different genres and is accompanied by sounding musical fragments (with a total length of more than 6 hours) Colorful illustrative material - photographs, canvases of artists of impressionists and symbolists, sketches of scenery and costumes complement the publication.
