The new series "The Golden Age of Detective Fiction" combines works that can be safely called the gold classic of the detective genre. The series in English is voiced by professional dicters - native speakers and addressed to everyone who wants to improve the skills of perception by ear to a foreign text, expand the vocabulary and simply enjoy the sound of a work in the original language.
In the fourth issue of The Golden Age of Detective Fiction, a work of "39 steps" is presented - the adventure novel of the British writer John Buchan, who called his books" shockers", combining personal and political dramas in them.
A strange person is attacked in the apartment of the protagonist Richard Hannaeus, but dying, he tells him a mortal secret. The police are suspected of killing Richard, and he needs to find real killers and reveal a secret of 39 steps.
The disk also contains a text version of the story in English.
