Herbert George Wells (1866–1946) is an English writer and publicist, author of the world-famous science fiction novels “Time Machine”, “Invisible Man”, “War of Worlds” and others. His work had a significant impact on the development of the science fiction genre. A significant part of Wells"s heritage is stories. They, as in novels, reflected his anxiety for the fate of a person in a world, which is too quickly cheating on scientific discoveries and new technologies. The organic combination of bold fantasy, good humor and the breadth of social observations made Wells"s work interesting and significant for readers of several generations.
