In the audiobook "The Adventures of Fox Patrikeevich", published by the Ardis studio for children, turned on the work with a very interesting and unusual history. The hero of the book was born in France in the Middle Ages, and his name was Renar or Reineke, and the work itself is known as a "novel about the fox". And his plot is not at all childish. But in 1906, the Frenchwoman Rosa-Jeanne-Matilda Leroy-Alle (1853-1914), the sister of the famous writer Alphonse Alla, remade the satirical epic to the children"s story. The book was released with numerous illustrations by the artist Benjamin Rabier (1864-1939).
And in Russia, in St. Petersburg, at that time, Eduard Andreevich Grandrem (1843-1918), a publisher who loves beautiful children"s books lived and worked. He translated Leroy-Alla into Russian and published in 1910 with the same illustrations. But he translated creatively, so that the book is interesting to our children. And the bear became Toptygin, the hare - oblique, the cat - Kotofey, the dog is a barbobic. And the fox received the middle name of Patrikevich and settled in Khitrovka.
many years have passed since then, but the book about the adventures of the fox is still read and loved by children.
