Vasily Osipovich Klyuchevsky (1841-1911) - Russian historian, honorary academician of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences, professor of Moscow University and Moscow Theological Academy, creator of scientific history of Russia.

In the 1880s. Klyuchevsky began to read at Moscow University a general course of history of Russia, and in the early 1900s. He began his preparation for the publication.
