According to the authors, this book should serve as a bridge between the foundations of physics and the knowledge and skills that a researcher working in the exciting area of modern atomic physics is required. This is not a consistent course of atomic physics, but a collection of tasks with prompts, circumstance solutions and retreats of an educational nature. This allows the reader to open a book on any page and thoroughly get acquainted with one of the urgent problems of modern atomic physics. Among them are the use of frequency combs in metrology, the use of nuclear systems to test the fundamental symmetry properties of nature, atomic magnetometers, atomic traps, optical cooling of atoms, Bose -Einstein condensate, resonance of coherence, etc. The book also includes tasks and training sections on the most important basic atomic physics for any practitioner. The authors, however, try to state them from the perspective of the experimenter, replacing, where it is possible, a formal mathematical description of the phenomenon by close assessments "on a napkin", symmetrical considerations and physical analogies
