The first and second edition of "atlas oncological operations", published in 1987 and 2008, became truly desk books for a wide range of specialists of our country and neighboring countries.
Suggested by the reader "Atlas of operation with malignant tumors of the esophagus and stomach" is based on the many years of clinical experience of MNII specialists. P. A. Herzen and is dedicated to one of the most complex partitions of extensive oncosurgery. In this publication, the authors took into account modern trends in the development of surgical oncology, based on the principles of evidence-based medicine. Atlas consists of two sections dedicated to operations with malignant esophageal and stomach tumors. Each section presents a chapter on regional metastasis and variances of lymphodissection. A separate chapter is assigned to modern classifications of malignant tumors of the esophagus and stomach, including international histological and TNM system (7th revision, 2009).
The final chapters are devoted to the technique of typical oncological operations on the esophagus and the stomach, a step-by-step detailed description of the course of operations, as well as original technical techniques that facilitate the work of the surgeon and allow you to minimize the frequency of postoperative complications.
Compared to previous editions, illustrative material is significantly supplemented. Along with the drawings of certain stages of operational interventions (access, mobilization, lymphadenectomy, reconstruction, anastomosis) for the first time, photographs of oncological operations are presented.
