The city of Smolensk has long been playing in the military history of Russia a special role, the first to accept the strike of the aggressors, striving to seize Moscow. Residents of the city during severe trials showed themselves with real patriots of their homeland, so now Smolensk with honor bears the high title of the city of Hero
