The first book of the two-volume publication is devoted to a secret organization to combat the revolutionary movement - the holy squad created on the initiative of S.Yu.vitte shortly after the murder of Emperor Alexander II in 1881. The book of one of the most prominent pre-revolutionary and first Soviet researchers of the Russian public and liberation movement MKLelka is published by the manuscript that remained unnecessary for 90 years. The value of this work is due not only to the awareness of the author in the subject, but also the breadth of the circle of the sources used by them, including secret documents, a significant part of which during the revolution was lost. The book ends with Article B.V. Ananich, R.Sh.Gannelina, S.V. Kulikova, S.K. Lebedeva, I.V. Lukoyanov S.Yu.Vitte and Holy squad and a fragment from the memoirs of the prefect of the Paris police L. Anland . The article discusses the results and the current state of studying the role of S.Yu.vitte in creating a holy squad as an important, but not yet fully recognized institution of political history of Russia. As for L. Anland, he was well known for the activities of the squad abroad.
