This publication will help the reader to present the picture of the life and a prayer feat of those whose life in different years was associated with the optical desert. The book contains the lives of students and contemporaries of St. Starty Optine"s contemporaries as previously published and published first. Texts are compiled by different authors, one of which is Archimandrite Nicodes (Kononov), a well-known pre-revolutionary agiograph, subsequently Bishop Belgorod, who accepted the martyrdom in 1918 and now glorified in the saints. They made up the lives of Jeroshimonach Flavian (Malenkov), the treasurer of the optical desert, Schirchimandrite Nicodemia (Demite), an experienced spiritual leader and a shepherd, Vasily Bagguzin, who had close ties with the monastery, and many other wonderful devotees.
Socialists of the famous elder monastery of the monk Gabriel (Domogatsky) and Nikolai Ivanov"s novice are printed for the first time.
The collection also publishes from "a memorable note on those who died and buried in Kozel"s administrative optical desert ...", containing valuable certificates about the life of the inhabitants of the monastery and pious laity buried in the necropolis of the monastery.
The book will be interesting to historians, local arts, genealogians and everyone who is close to Optina deserts, who are not indifferent to the history of the Church and the Fatherland
