The illustrated monograph by the St. Petersburg art critic Alla Alexandrovna Rusakova (1923-2013) continues the small series of "artists of Russian emigration". The book is dedicated to the creative and life fate of the wonderful Russian artist Zinaida Evgenievna Serebryakova.
Zinaida Serebryakova belonged to the generation of masters who built "Russian art of the 20th century. Forced to leave Russia, she lived for more than forty years in France, but always entered the circle of artists of Russian emigration, whose work remained an organic part of Russian culture.
The author offers his definition of the place and significance of the work of Zinaida Serebryakova in Russian art of the 20th century, the style and "species" features of her picturesque manner, and also compares the Russian and French periods of the artist’s work.
The book contains reproductions of more than 300 works, many of which are published for the first time, and is addressed to both specialists and a wide range of lovers of domestic painting
