Joseph Mallord William Turner was the son of the London hairdresser, but as a child he copied engravings, painted the species of London. He loved to work with watercolors and polished his skills, creating the picturesque surroundings of his hometown. Later he began to write with oil, bringing the highlight of the watercolor into the work.
