The author of the two -volume is a famous Russian Japanese, a specialist in Japanese antiquity and literature of the early Middle Ages. The proposed publication contains both a research work and illustrating their translations of early medieval Japanese monuments.
The first volume includes studies of different years, including very recent: these are essays on the mythological world and the ritual activity of ancient Japan due to the early period of the formation of Japanese literature, mythological and folklore fitness, work on the poetics of classical Japanese prose and poetry .
The second volume includes translations of the ancient and early medieval Japanese monuments “Annals of Japan” (“Nikhon Shoki”, scrolls 1-3), Norito prayer from the Code “Engisiki”, pronounced during various rituals, imperative decrees of Sammo: from the annals “Shokunihongi”, as well as “Biography [Princess-Gritsa] Yamato-Hime-Him-no Mikoto” (“Yamato-Hime-no Mikoto Seiki”) Translations are equipped with detailed comments
